ICMAB holds a day long International Workshop on “Trade Finance”

The Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh (ICMAB) has organized a day long workshop on the Trade Finance on Friday, November 4, 2022 at ICMAB Ruhul Quddus Auditorium, Nilkhet, Dhaka. ICMAB President Mr. Md. Mamunur Rashid FCMA presided over the workshop. A total of 3 (Three) technical session were took place in the workshop.

Mr. Tapan Kanti Ghosh, Senior Secretary, Ministry of Commerce Bangladesh chaired the 3rd session and graced as chief guest in concluding session while Mr. Ahmed Jamal, Deputy Governor, Bangladesh Bank and Mr. Anis A. Khan, Former Managing Director & CEO, Mutual Trust Bank Limited chaired the 1st and 2nd session respectively. ICMAB Past President & Council Member Mr. Abu Sayed Md. Shaykhul Islam FCMA delivered the concluding speech.

The paper presenters and speakers discussed on various aspects of trade financing and transparency of international financial transactions. The objective of the workshop was to build a bridging platform between the professionals and global business leaders and to promote Cost and Management Accounting profession in the Country. CMAs avail the opportunities to meet and get experience with the global business leaders in trade finance. Three technical papers were presented in the workshop. About 350 CMAs of the Institute attended the workshop.  

ATM Nesarul Hoque, Head, Financial Institutions Services, Mutual Trust Bank Ltd. Presented the paper on “Introduction to Trade Finance” in first technical session. Mr. Pinaki Roy, Senior Adviser, 360tf, Singapore presented the paper on “Digital journey of Trade Finance” while CA Pankaj Mundra, Co-Founder & Chairman, 360tf, Singapore presented the paper on “Business opportunities & Challenges in Trade Finance, 360tf- Enabling Trade Finance Globally” in second and third session.

ICMAB President said that CMA professionals can create a great impact and opportunities by putting their expertise for ensuring clarity in various economic aspects specially in Trade Finance. He emphasized to add Cost of Goods Sold Statement with company return after getting certification from Cost and Management Accountants.

Past President SAFA and Chairman of ICMAB Seminar & Conference Committee Mr. A. K. M. Delwer Hussain FCMA delivered welcome speech. Mr. Md. Munirul Islam FCMA, Vice President, ICMAB; Mr. A. K. M. Kamruzzaman FCMA, Secretary, ICMAB; Mr. Md. Ali Haider Chowdhury, Treasurer, ICMAB and Kazi Muhammad Ziauddin FCMA, Council Member, ICMAB delivered the Vote of Thanks
