Discussion on National Mourning Day 2023

In observance of National Mourning Day and 48th martyrdom anniversary of the father of the nation -Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh (ICMAB) organized a discussion program on 29 August 2023    on “National Mourning Day-2023” at its Ruhul Quddus Auditorium of ICMA Bhaban, Nilkhet, Dhaka.

                                               𝘗𝘩𝘰𝘵𝘰: 𝘗𝘳𝘰𝘧𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘰𝘳 𝘋𝘳. 𝘔𝘥. 𝘈𝘬𝘩𝘵𝘢𝘳𝘶𝘻𝘻𝘢𝘮𝘢𝘯, 𝘝𝘪𝘤𝘦 𝘊𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘦𝘭𝘭𝘰𝘳, 𝘜𝘯𝘪𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘰𝘧 𝘋𝘩𝘢𝘬𝘢

Professor Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman, Vice Chancellor, University of Dhaka graced the occasion as the Chief Guest while Professor Mamtaz Uddin Ahmed, Treasurer, University of Dhaka remained present as the principal discussant in the Program.

Bangabandhu was a great orator. He could inspire people greatly in his presence or even at his absence by his words. His speech shall inspire our nation throughout our lifetime, said Professor Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman. He added that Bangabandhu worked throughout his life for the well-being of this country.  Bangabandhu dreamt of establishing a country free of hunger and poverty and tried hard till his last breath. He further added that it is our duty to implement the dream of Bangabandhu through our activities by ensuring accuracy and accountability and establishing good governance in everyone’s respective areas.

Professor Mamtaz Uddin Ahmed, as a principal discussant, highlighted Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s whole life including his long political life. He added that he devoted his whole life to the oppressed people of this country and had a deep faith in the people of  the nation which became the cause of the tragic demise, and we lost the father of the nation, the greatest Bengali of all time.

                                                     𝘗𝘩𝘰𝘵𝘰: 𝘔𝘳. 𝘔𝘥. 𝘈𝘣𝘥𝘶𝘳 𝘙𝘢𝘩𝘮𝘢𝘯 𝘒𝘩𝘢𝘯 𝘍𝘊𝘔𝘈, 𝘗𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘪𝘥𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘰𝘧 𝘐𝘊𝘔𝘈𝘉

The President of ICMAB Mr. Md. Abdur Rahman Khan FCMA in his welcome speech stated that Bangabandhu has been the lighthouse of our hearts and is constantly inspiring us to build the country through the ages. He has given that our independent country, under the leadership of his capable successor, his daughter Honorable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Bangladesh has become the 35th economic country in the world today.  Under the leadership of the Honorable Prime Minister, we want to take Bangladesh forward; we want to turn Bangladesh into a trillion-dollar economy. I believe that we can repay the debt of Bangabandhu’s blood only by building a non-discriminatory, secular, developed, prosperous, digital and smart Bangladesh by fulfilling our professional responsibilities properly.

Mr. Md. Kausar Alam FCMA, Secretary of ICMAB offered a vote of thanks.

A good number of ICMA members, students and employees of the Institute joined the program physically while members from abroad attended the program through virtual platform.
