ICMAB organized a Webinar on “Public Financial Management in Bangladesh”

The Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh (ICMAB) organized a Webinar on “Public Financial Management in Bangladesh” on September 20, 2020 evening. Mr. Mohammad Muslim Chowdhury, Comptroller and Auditor General of Bangladesh joined the program as Chief Guest and Mr. Md. Mamun-Al-Rashid, Member (Secretary), Industry and Energy Division of Planning Commission joined as special guest.
Chief Guest Mr. Mohammad Muslim Chowdhury said that Public Financial Management got a unique feature in government system. Our financial process starts from the parliament. He described the entire PFM system in a detail manner for the participants and students of this arena.

Special Guest Mr. Md. Mamun-Al-Rashid said that, Expenditure management is a key issue for government, especially developing countries needs to focus on this process very much. He emphasized on procurement plan and described its importance for the development process on the basis of his diverse experience.
ICMAB President Mr. Md. Jasim Uddin Akond FCMA thanked all the honorable guest and participants, and emphasized particularly on ensuring Cost Audit Certification by a professional CMA firm or professional for every listed companies. He said that CMA professionals can create a great impact by putting their expertise for ensuring clarity in various economic aspects. He requested the honorable guests to create more scope for the CMA professionals in relevant fields so that they can give their effort for the development of this country.
Mr. A. K. M. Jashim Uddin FCMA, Former Director General Foreign Aided Project Audit Directorate gave a detailed Presentation on “Public Financial Management in Bangladesh”.
Mr. A. K, M. Delwer Hussain FCMA, Vice President of SAFA and Past President & Chairman, Seminar and Conference Committee of ICMAB gave welcome address.
Mr. Ahmed Ataul Hakeem FCMA, Controller of Examinations, BRAC University & Former Comptroller and Auditor General of Bangladesh and Mr. Md. Abdur Rahman Khan FCMA, ICMAB Council Member and Joint Secretary of Ministry of Finance, participated the program as commentator. Past President & Council Member of ICMAB Mr. Abu Sayed Md. Shaykhul Islam FCMA moderated the entire program connecting the audience and discussants and also gave his analysis regarding the topics of discussion.
