Mr. Md. Jasim Uddin Akond, FCMA, has been elected as Treasurer of the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh for the year 2008 in its Council meeting held on January 24, 2008 in Dhaka. A promising professional Cost and Management Accountant Mr. Md. Jasim Uddin Akond born in 1964 at Sariatpur District. He obtained his B.Com.(Hons.) and Masters degree in Accounting from the University of Dhaka in 1984 and 1985 respectively. He qualified as a professional Cost and Management Accountant (CMA) in May, 1993 and admitted as an associate and fellow of ICMAB in November, 1993 and November, 1998 respectively.
He was elected as Chairman to the ICMAB Dhaka Branch Council in 1999, as Vice Chairman in 1998, as Secretary in 1997 and as Treasurer in 1996. He was also elected as the Chairman of Seminar and Conference Committee of ICMAB Dhaka Branch Council for the year 2000 and was the Secretary of CMA Multipurpose Co-operative Society Ltd. He has served various committees of ICMA Bangladesh for long time.
Mr. Akond is presently the Comptroller of Bangladesh University of Engineering & Technology (BUET), Dhaka. Prior to that he worked with Bangladesh Steel & Engineering Corporation from 1989 to 2007 in different managerial capacities.
He participated many seminars, workshops, conferences and training programs both at home and abroad. He takes keen interest for the development of ICMAB and profession.
