Mr. A.B.M. Shamsuddin, FCMA, a senior and reputed Cost and Management Accountant of the country has been elected as the Vice President of ICMA Bangladesh for the year 2008. He served the Institute as Treasurer, Secretary and Vice President for the year 1999, 2000 & 2002-2004 respectively. He was first elected to the ICMAB Council for the term 1993-95 and was re-elected for the term 1999-2001 & 2002-2004.
Mr. A.B.M. Shamsuddin, FCMA is currently working as Company Secretary and Financial Adviser of Scholastica Group of Companies. Mr. Shamsuddin has long experience in public sector accounting and financial management both within and outside the country. He had the opportunity of working with PA Management Consultants of London and Price Water House Associates of Australia in designing & implementing modern Accounting, Budgetary Control and MIS Systems in various nationalized enterprises. As Director (Finance) of Bangladesh Textile Mills Corporation (BTMC), a government owned Corporation, he was Chairman of six nationalized Textile Mills of the enterprise Board. He was also Director (Finance) of Bangladesh Chemical Industries Corporation (BCIC), the largest Public Sector Corporation of Bangladesh. He served as Director (Finance) of Sunman Group of Companies. He also held the position of Chairman/Director of ten large industrial enterprises including three multinational companies. He is the founder President of Lions Club of Uttara Model Town and Zone Chairman of the Lions Club International, District-315B-I for the year 2003.
