ICMAB holds Discussion Session on "Survey Report on Devastations Caused to the Bangladesh Economy by Cyclone SIDR-2007"
The Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh (ICMAB) has arranged a Discussion Session on "Survey Report on Devastations Caused to the Bangladesh Economy by Cyclone SIDR-2007" on July 21, 2008 at ICMAB Ruhul Quddus Auditorium, ICMA Bhaban, Nilkhet, Dhaka.
The Survey Report was presented by Mr. Md. Nurul Hassan FCMA, a Past President of the Institute and Past President of the South Asian Federation of Accountants (SAFA).
Mr. Jamil Osman, Secretary, Ministry of Information, Government of Bangladesh, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and Mr. Rafiq Ahmed, FCMA, a Past President of the Institute was the Special Guest. Mr. Zahir Uddin Ahmed, FCMA, President of the Institute presided over the meeting.
Mr. A. K. M. Delwer Hussain, FCMA, Past President of the Institute gave welcome address and Mr. A.B.M. Shamsuddin, FCMA, Vice President proposed the vote of thanks.
The Survey Report detailed the losses under 27 different heads. Later the losses were summarized under 11 major heads and the total loss stood at Tk. 307,900 million or US$ 4.4 billion.
A good number of members of the Institute & senior students attended the Discussion Session.
