Uddin Akond, FCMA as the Secretary of the Institute of Cost
and Management Accountants of Bangladesh (ICMAB) at a meeting of the 13th
Council of ICMAB held on 28th January, 2010 for the year 2010. The Council also elected Mr. A.B.M. Shamsuddin, FCMAand Mr. A. K. M. Delwer
Hussain, FCMA as the Vice-Presidents
and Mr. Md. Abdur Rashid, FCMA as the Treasurer of the Institute for the same term.
Mr. Abdul Aziz qualified as CMA in 1986. Mr. Abdul Aziz has been
rendering professional services to the cause of development of ICMAB in various
capacities. He served as Treasurer in 1995, Secretary 1996 and Vice-President 1997-1998
& President of the Institute for the year 2001.
He is working as the Group Finance Director of Opex and Sinha Textile Group, a
leading industrial conglomerate in the country. He worked both in public and
private sector industries in senior management positions. It may be mentioned
that he served Bangladesh Chemical Industries Corporation (BCIC) as Controller
of Accounts and Rural Power Company as Director, Finance for a long time.
He has written many technical papers and commentaries at national and
international conferences and seminars held in Bangladesh and abroad
(Australia, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, India, Nepal and Bangladesh).
He also completed a course on Advanced Financial Management for Developing
Countries under British Technical Assistance Scholarship in Strathclyde
Business School, University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, UK.

Hussain, FCMA is the Past
President of ICMAB and currently the Director (Finance) of Bangladesh Sugar
& Food Industries Corporation, Secretary Mr. Md. Jasim Uddin Akond, FCMA is
the former Chairman of ICMAB Dhaka Branch Council and at present working as the
Comptroller, Bangladesh University of Engineering and
Technology (BUET) and Treasurer Mr. Md. Abdur Rashid, FCMA, Past President, ICMAB & President,
Taxes Appellate Tribunal.
