ICMAB attends meeting on “Strengthening Corporate Financial Reporting”
A World Bank sponsored meeting on “Strengthening Accounting and Auditing Standards and Practices in the Corporate Sector (Commerce Ministry Part)” was held at ICMAB Bhaban, Dhaka on 3rd November 2008 under the chairmanship of the Project Director and Joint Secretary, Ministry of Commerce Mr. Md. Showkat Ali Waresy. Delegates from ICMAB, ICAB and National University attended the meeting. The meeting reviewed the progress of the said project and took a decision to conduct training programs on “International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)”. It was decided that the 35 persons who have recently got training on IFRS in London, UK will take the responsibility to train other concerned Bangladeshis. In order to complete the said training program on time a detailed Work Plan was chalked out in the meeting and necessary budget was also allocated for the same. The ICMAB delegate include, among others, the Acting president Mr. A. B. M Samsudddin, FCMA, Secretary Mr. A. S. M Shaykhul Islam, FCMA and the Executive Director Mr. M. A. Matin, FCMA.
