The Institute admitted 45 Associate and 18 Fellow members during the
year raising the total membership to 745 as on 30th June, 2006
(excluding 42 members whose names have been removed from the register.
Of the 779 members, 73 Fellows and 42 Associates totaling to 104 members have been living abroad, 55 are in professional practice and the rest are in employment with various private organizations, sector corporations, NGOs, government departments, autonomous bodies and educational institutions within the country. It may be mentioned here that the total membership upto November 2006 has increased to 771. The membership growth and distribution by geographical location and sector are shown in Figures -1
